Major works complete on $45.36m Snowy River Views Residential Care
Major works have been completed on a new public aged care home in Orbost, East Gippsland. The two-level, $45.36 million Snowy River Views Residential Care is operated by Orbost Regional Health and features 38 single bedrooms with private ensuites. Arranged in small household models — with shared kitchens and dining areas — it also features landscaped sensory gardens and terraces.

Designed to support residents with complex health needs, including those with reduced mobility and people living with dementia, its contemporary design is also intended to support infection prevention and control, and to provide a safe, functional and welcoming environment for residents and staff. The facility is designed to support delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in a setting that feels like home.

Minor refurbishment works are due to be completed by mid-2026 at the former facility at Orbost Regional Health, which will expand hospital amenities. A partnership between Orbost Regional Health, ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects and SJ Higgins delivered the project, which forms part of the Victorian Government’s investment to modernise public aged care infrastructure across the state.
