Eurofield Information Solutions TurboGrouper medical coding and grouping
TurboGrouper undertakes grouping of coded medical records into Australian Refined-Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRGs), which are required for Activity Based Funding (ABF). AR-DRGs allow health authorities to manage, measure and pay for healthcare services.
TurboGrouper was built in conjunction with clinical coders and health information managers (HIMs), and is claimed to provide a simple, end-to-end medical coding and grouping solution.
The program interfaces to both i.PM and WebPAS Patient Administration Systems, and i.PM users can trial it in parallel with current software.
Software technology company Eurofield Information Solutions, which designed the software, states that the software is designed to provide a less costly alternative to the competition, allowing hospitals to reduce their ongoing software fees, and that it requires no additional hardware or support.
