Mediquip delivers a holistic CSSD solution to Renaissant Aesthetic Health in East Brisbane

Renaissant Aesthetic Health opened in East Brisbane in late August this year after a whirlwind construction over eight months. Mediquip, a leading Australian biomedical sales and service provider were at the forefront of the project, delivering an array of state-of-the-art equipment including two fully integrated theatres and a holistic CSSD solution to the day hospital.

With a number of Mediquip CSSD upgrades over the last twelve months receiving accreditation to AS/NZS 4187: 2014, Renaissant Aesthetic Health knew they were in safe hands.

“When choosing someone to partner with in our new Day Hospital there are many things to be considered, and Mediquip met all of our requirements,” explains Renaissant Aesthetic Health CEO Rachael Cook.

“Their knowledge of our industry and the requirements needed for us to provide the best facility possible to our patients was second to none. They have been integral in helping us be one of the first facilities to meet the new AS/NZS 4187:2014 standards.”

With the new version of AS/NZS 4187 becoming an impending hurdle for hospitals and day hospitals, Mediquip was surprised to find a gap in the market with limited options for customers seeking a complete CSSD solution.

Kyle Cederblad, Product Specialist at Mediquip, said that many companies fall short, offering only CSSD equipment or consumables — not both.

“Whether it’s a new facility or a renovation our customers need washers, sterilisers, reverse osmosis systems that help them comply with the new standard, and they need to be able to monitor this equipment correctly. It can get complicated when staff is using equipment and consumables that don’t fit well with each other, or don’t have suitable technical support,” Mr Cederblad said.

Installing a Uniflow Reverse Osmosis System along with a DGM Washer Disinfector and Steriliser, Mediquip are certain that Renaissant Aesthetic Health can deliver quality and compliant sterilisation and reprocessing while also meeting AS/NZS 4187.

“We understand the challenges associated with compliance within the Central Sterile Supply Department. Therefore we do a lot of research and make sure our products meet specific requirements.”

Mr Cederblad explains those requirements include ease-of-use to streamline facility processes, innovative technology to keep up with industry developments, and most of all quality products that will last.

“For example, we sourced our Uniflow Reverse Osmosis System specifically with our customer in mind. Our number one consideration was how best to help our customers reach accreditation to the new standard.”

Mediquip’s consumables are no exception to quality either, recently introducing the TRAQS Traceability System including routine monitoring consumables and washer process chemicals. The company has also introduced a range of Famos equipment from heat sealers to roll holders.

“We loved how Mediquip have a solution for all of our needs,” said Ms Cook.

“Having experts we can rely on for not only the capital equipment, but the products, consumables and tracking system was of great interest to us.”

Mediquip can now add Renaissant Aesthetic Health to a growing list of successful projects the company has spearheaded in Australia this year. Thirty-eight Simeon Theatre lights were installed at Gold Coast University Hospital from June to September, in addition to another complete CSSD solution installed at the new ultra-modern Westside Private Facility in Indooroopilly.

“We already have a number of CSSD fit-outs scheduled over the next few months and only expect more and more in the lead up to the December 2021 deadline.”

Mr Cederblad continues, “And with the feedback we get from customers like Rachael from Renaissant, it makes it each successful project even more worthwhile.”

Renaissant Aesthetic Health is located at 45 Wellington Road, East Brisbane.
