Warwick Anderson to Lead Human Frontier Science Program

Professor Warwick Anderson has announced  he is resigning as CEO of the NHMRC with effect from the end of March 2015 before commencing an appointment as Secretary-General of the Human Frontier Science Program, beginning mid 2015.


CEO of the NHMRC since 2006, Professor Anderson has presided over a period of very significant growth in the NHMRC.  His new appointment will take him from Canberra to Strasbourg, France, official seat of the European Parliament.
The Human Frontier Science Program is an international program of research support implemented by the International Human Frontier Science Program Organization (HFSPO) based in Strasbourg, France. Its aims are to promote intercontinental collaboration and training in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research focused on the life sciences.
HFSPO receives financial support from the governments or research councils of Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Switzerland, UK, USA, as well as from the European Union. With its collaborative research grants and postdoctoral fellowship programs it has supported over 6000 awards involving scientists from more than 70 countries.
