International design practice Hassell has appointed noted health architect Sheree Proposch as it undertakes hospital projects across Australia, Asia, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
Ms Proposch was involved in the design and delivery of the A$1 billion Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne while working with Australian based architecture firm Bates Smart. She is also recognised as a leader in hospital design with more than 25 years of experience in Australia, Singapore and the UK.
Ms Porposch said Hassell could bring a diversity of international talent to its health projects, and was continually focused on understanding its clients’ needs and developing its knowledge of evidence based design in hospital projects.
“It is essential we understand our clients' business and design buildings and spaces that are high performing,”Ms Proposch said. “Similarly, we are committed to creating elegant designs that transcend the client brief and improve
community amenity. “Hospital design is continually evolving and the knowledge that designers bring to the process is
critical to delivering successful social infrastructure.”
Hassell Managing Director Rob Backhouse said Ms Proposch’s appointment underlined the importance of hospitals and health care projects to the practice. “Hassell can bring together teams of architects, landscape architects, interior designers, planners and urban designers ,and collaborate across these disciplines to deliver the best outcomes for
clients.”
