Research Forum: Clinicians’ Views on Voluntary Assisted Dying in Victoria
17 July, 2019 - 17 July, 2019
From 19 June 2019, voluntary assisted dying will be legal in Victoria. This is a substantial shift in health policy, whose consequences in practice are not yet understood. Voluntary assisted dying is a sensitive and divisive issue in healthcare organisations, and evidence is needed to support decision-making in this challenging area.
This research forum will share findings from projects at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health about the implementation of voluntary assisted dying in Victoria, specifically focusing on clinicians’ views. The forum brings together researchers, clinicians and policy makers for knowledge sharing and discussion, informed by local data.
