VMO to Hospital Documentation
Cabrini Health in Melbourne has signed up with secure cloud provider Argus to transmit clinical documents and correspondence between visiting medical officers' (VMOs) practice software and automatically upload them to the hospitals' web-based patient administration system.
Argus gives clinicians access to operation reports, procedure notes and discharge letters through the VMOs Genie practice management system, and then attached to patients’ records through Cabrini’s webPAS patient administration system.
Records are able to be accessed throughout laboratory, radiology, imaging and medication management departments via mobile device. Cabrini is also integrating records using Argus across their palliative care services.
Hospitals using Web Chat for Telehealth Consults
Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has moved to a WebRTC (Real Time Chat) platform based on Healthdirect Australia's video call service for providing telehealth consultations with patients and remote clinicians.
RCH has been providing telehealth services to patients for almost four years, using the GoToMeeting video conferencing platform, with more than 20 of the hospital’s departments using telehealth has part of a commitment to seeing the technology part of everyday healthcare offerings at the organisation. The service has seen growth of upwards of 60% per year in the number of consultations it provides, according to PulseIT+.
Online Appointment Bookings for Allied Health
Online appointments booking service 1stAvailable, which offers quick bookings across General Practice, specialist, allied health and community health, has has signed an agreement with Digital Health Ventures to use 1stAvailable's appointment booking system for NIB's allied health provider directory whitecoat.com.au.
The site, which is a location-based directory of providers from dentists to herbalists offers allied health practitioners the ability to list their profile of services, and patients can review their experiences through a star system.
