Enhancing Patient Care Through Smart Design at Paula Fox Melanoma & Cancer Centre
The Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre at The Alfred in Melbourne was developed to bring cancer research, clinical trials, and patient treatment together in one facility. It provides patients with access to leading specialists and offers staff a well-planned environment to deliver care.
In a healthcare setting, even small details can make a big difference to safety. That is why the project team chose products that support infection control and long-term reliability. GENTEC worked closely with the contractors to supply solutions for clinical areas where hygiene is essential.
Two key products were installed in the facility. The STERISAN® Clinical Basin with Rear Offset Waste was designed to help reduce splash and make cleaning easier, which supports daily hygiene practices. The GPURE® SMARTEC PLUS Electronic Tapware offers a hands-free operation and a durable stainless steel build, helping patients and staff maintain good handwashing routines while lowering the chance of cross-contamination.
By combining practical design with infection control features, these products contribute to a safer and more efficient environment for both patients and healthcare staff.
The Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre shows how thoughtful choices in fixtures and fittings can support better healthcare outcomes. On the following page, you can learn more about the GENTEC solutions that continue to help hospitals and healthcare facilities provide safer spaces for care.
