Eastern Health Blackburn reopens surgical hub
Eastern Health Blackburn, Victoria, has re-opened its surgical hub, providing surgical services to the community again.
The initial stage of the site redevelopment has used the existing space to include new theatres, an onsite pharmacy and specialist clinics.
Louisa Ford, Director Operations, Surgery and Anaesthetics, said, “I’m really proud of the way that we’ve been able to use the existing space and redesign it to ensure that the configuration is much more user friendly, for both our staff and patients.”
The project, to be completed in the next few months, will see two new surgical theatres added and will allow more specialities to be provided onsite.
Nicole O’Brien, Acting Deputy Director Operations, Surgery and Anaesthetics, said, “The next stage of our redevelopment is really exciting for us, as a team moving forward and bringing more specialities onboard will allow us additional cases, for surgery and for our ward. It’s exciting times ahead.”
