In 2002,Canberra inventor, Basil Bautovich designed the first INVISA-BEAM® for his Mother. Although residing in an excellent nursing home, she was having nightly falls. Other falls prevention devices were tried, but proved unsuccessful; so, Basil decided to develop a new concept. His unique device, using a precise invisible beam, caught the first movement of the patient attempting to exit the bed. This was a crucial factor to allow the carer to attend to the patient before they could stand up and thus help prevent a fall. Once out of bed is too late!!
The INVISA-BEAM® bed monitor gave his Mother, and the staff, peace of mind. They no longer had to check on her frequently, because the invisible beam monitored the bedside continuously. His Mother never had another fall for the last four years of her life.
‘catch them before they fall’ has become the catch-word phrase of INVISA-BEAM®.
Basil Bautovich won the ABC program THE NEW INVENTORS - Peoples Choice Award, He was also awarded the Canberra Business Point Award for Innovation and Commercialisation
INVISA-BEAM® INTERNATIONAL Pty Ltd has expanded their range of products to include –

  • the Bed Monitor, Chair Monitor, Free Standing Monitor and the Dual Beam Monitor [for both sides of the bed].
