The National Health Performance Authority (NHPA) has published several updates, including the interactive maps on MyHealthy Communities to include boundaries for Primary Health Networks (PHN).
These boundaries show the Medicare Local catchments that are within the new PHN areas, as well as Local Hospital Network boundaries. They will be set up to replace Medicare Locals from July 2015.
The information will assist users with the comparison of health system performance data between different levels of geography across Australia. In 2015, the Performance Authority aims to begin reporting health performance information directly calculated for the PHN level.
The update also allows users to see results for a range of health measures including childhood immunisation rates, GP management of chronic health conditions, potentially avoidable hospitalisations, avoidable deaths and more.
The NHPA has also updated hand hygiene audit information on the MyHospitals website. The data provides information on hand washing by hospital staff for Audit Period 1, ending March 2014 and Audit Period 2, ending June 2014. This release updates information for more than 700 public and private hospitals
