Acacia 1.0: Patient Administration+ (PAS+) now "live across all NT hospitals"
According to Northern Territory Primary Health Network (NT PHN), Acacia 1.0: Patient Administration+ (PAS+) was introduced by NT Health at Alice Springs and Tennant Creek Hospitals on Saturday, 23 August, meaning the digital health system “will now be live across all NT hospitals and renal clinics” — thus marking the “final stage of the Territory-wide rollout”.
“Acacia is the largest digital health project ever undertaken in the NT, consolidating more than 20 years of patient records into a single secure system,” NT PHN said. “For healthcare partners, it means more reliable information to support your work with patients and families.”
While only affecting internal NT Health users, NT PHN said that awareness across primary healthcare providers for this single, Territory-wide digital health system means:
- better continuity of care — with one consolidated record for patients who move between hospitals, renal clinics, primary care and community services;
- improved coordination — with health professionals working from the same information across the system; and
- safer care transitions — with streamlined patient administration that includes admissions, outpatient management, clinical workflows and appointments.
