HESTA Nursing & Midwifery Awards 2025 winners announced
Now in their 19th year, the HESTA Australian Nursing & Midwifery Awards honour contributions made by Australia’s nurses, midwives, nurse educators, researchers and personal care workers — each winner being awarded $10,000. On 14 May, Ty Simpson from Alfred Health was named Nurse of the Year, in recognition of his contributions to nursing education and patient care in Chimeric Antigen Receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy.
Vanessa Page — recognised for leading the Endorsed Midwife Care Program at Gateway Health, helping around 240 clients in the Albury and Wodonga areas since the program’s inception — was named Midwife of the Year. The Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre was named Outstanding Organisation; the Adelaide-based centre has screened more than 500 people in rural areas at Australia’s first free nurse-led skin cancer screening pop-up clinics.
