2025 WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards finalists

The 2025 WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards (WANMEA) finalists have been announced, celebrating 41 nurses and midwives and four teams. The finalists were selected from nominations across 14 categories and represent excellence in innovation, leadership and patient care.

“The dedication and professionalism demonstrated by this year’s finalists is truly inspiring,” WA Health Minister Meredith Hammat said. “The commitment of this year’s finalists to delivering exceptional care and enhancing health outcomes for Western Australians is remarkable.”

The annual event is coordinated by the Western Australia Department of Health and includes the 2025 WA Nurse or Midwife of the Year and the recipient of the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Honour.

“More than 47,000 nurses and midwives are at the heart of our healthcare system, delivering professional, compassionate, safe and effective care across our hospitals, clinics and communities in Western Australia,” Hammat said. “It is important to take this opportunity to recognise and celebrate nurses and midwives’ hard work, leadership and unwavering commitment to their profession.”

The awards recognise outstanding contributions from nurses and midwives across public, private and non-government organisations, with winners to be announced at a gala event on Saturday, 10 May. “These awards shine a light on the vital role nurses and midwives play in the lives of so many people across Western Australia,” Hammat said.
