Sound Safety SoundEar II and SoundEar 3-300 noise alert system
SoundEars from Sound Safety are wall-mounted units designed to alert staff when sound levels in an area reach a specified level set by the operator. When the set level is exceeded, the device flashes red. This visual alert creates awareness of noise that may disturb patient comfort and recovery.
The SoundEar visual noise warning device can offer a sustained and significant reduction in ambient noise levels. The devices are claimed to improve patient recovery time, especially in ICUs, by reducing the impact of disturbing noises.
The SoundEar II and the SoundEar 3-300 are about the size of an A4 page. Mounted on the wall of an ICU or ward, they continually monitor noise levels. The SoundEar 3-300 comes with the ability to log and report noise levels so that corrective actions to minimise disturbance can be measured.
