Victorian Medical Equipment Replacement Program funds 10 projects
10 projects across eight health services will receive funding to replace and upgrade critical diagnostic and surgical equipment, as part of Victoria’s Medical Equipment Replacement Program.
Supporting safe, modern and reliable services for patients across the state, the Medical Equipment Replacement Program is intended to ensure hospitals can keep pace with growing demand while improving care outcomes and reducing service interruptions.
Included in this funding round are:
- imaging and scanning equipment upgrades, to support early diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as cancer and heart disease;
- equipment to improve neurosurgical and ENT (ear, nose and throat) procedures
- technology to support complex treatments such as epilepsy surgery, transplants and trauma care;
- improved nuclear medicine services for faster, more accurate diagnosis; and
- equipment upgrades to improve patient flow and support specialised care.
Following an additional $52.25 million investment in the 2025–26 State Budget, the Medical Equipment Replacement Program is now valued at $367.25 million.
More information on the Medical Equipment Replacement Program, including submission process, is available here, via the Victorian Health Building Authority website.
